The Challenge
Engage high value Direct Energy customers with a campaign that promoted clean energy in a memorable, action driven way.
The Idea
The team developed a tiered specialty mailer campaign that brought sustainability to life. Top tier recipients received a plantable sapling, while a secondary tier received plantable sunflower seeds, reinforcing the clean energy message through a tangible, eco conscious experience.
The mailer directed customers to an interactive microsite that extended the campaign digitally, offering energy saving tips, a 20 percent discount on efficiency products, and an online home energy audit. The integrated physical and digital journey transformed a traditional mail piece into a measurable engagement platform.
Performance Impact
The campaign increased customer engagement around clean energy initiatives and was recognized with a Gold ADDY Award in the Value Add category, one of the advertising industry’s highest honors for creative excellence.
My Role
As Senior Art Director and Front End Web Developer, I led the concept, design, and development of the interactive microsite experience. I translated the campaign narrative into a dynamic digital journey, ensuring seamless alignment between the physical mailer and the online engagement platform.
